Crowns and Bridges
Whether due to the wear from the passage of time, to decay, or an unfortunate injury, cracked and broken teeth can happen. Don’t let the discomfort and unsightliness of an imperfect tooth stand in the way of your best possible smile. Dr. Eric Berkner and the specialists at Ponderosa Dental Arts are experts at easing the pain of a cracked tooth, and an imperfect smile. Custom-shaped to match your existing teeth, natural appearing crowns can be fitted in place of your damaged teeth, and your dazzling smile can be restored.
Crowns
A dental crown is an excellent protective and fully-permanent solution for replacing damaged teeth. Crowns are generally made out of porcelain – long praised for its longevity and natural appearance, but crowns can also be made out of various other materials, like acrylic resins or even precious metals. In order to create a custom crown, perfectly matched to your natural teeth, Ponderosa Dental Arts will first remove any decay from the affected area, and then make an impression of your teeth in order to create an individually tailored custom crown, which is cemented into place to form a permanent replacement. This process can take two to three visits, over the course of two to three weeks.
No one wishes to go through the temporary embarrassment of missing teeth, however, and Dr. Eric Berkner and the team want to ensure that, even in the worst of times, you have a smile you can be proud of. We will fit you with a temporary crown which can serve as a short-term replacement until such time as the permanent crown has been professionally sculpted. Once the permanent crown is created and professionally cemented in place, your beautiful smile is restored.
Dr. Berkner and our team will provide consultation and information on how to keep your new smile looking its best, year after year. Once your beautiful and custom new crown is in place, this permanent solution can last through a lifetime of beautiful and confident smiles.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a literal bridge in the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth or teeth in between. Depending on your situation, a dental bridge can be supported by either your natural teeth or by dental implants.
Bridges are an excellent way to restore the ability to naturally chew, distributing the force in your bite amongst the remaining teeth, while maintaining the shape of your jaw and restoring your beautiful smile. When properly created, a bridge can help prevent the remaining teeth around the missing gap from drifting out of position, causing further issues.
Whether missing or having damaged one tooth or many, Dr. Eric Berkner and the experts at Ponderosa Dental Arts are your local Oregon City experts in crafting beautiful, natural-looking crowns and bridges to help you restore your sparkling smile, and keep it for a lifetime.
