Meet The Team
Dr. Eric Berkner
Dr. Eric Berkner found he had a passion for helping people from a young age, and channeled this passion through his studies of dentistry. Originally from Virginia, he has made Oregon his home since falling in love with the Pacific Northwest after studying at OSU and then OHSU for his doctorate. Dr. Berkner started Ponderosa Dental Arts in 2013, after a 2-year fellowship with a mentor in Missoula, Montana.
A member of the Oregon Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and American Dental Association (ADA), Dr. Berkner is active in the community, and is constantly furthering his education on his patient’s behalf, to ensure that the best and most modern solutions are available to them.
Dr. Berkner loves being able to help the wonderful patients in his practice, but still enjoys finding time to reach out to the less fortunate to provide pro-bono work through a variety of charitable organizations.
When he is not at work helping others, he enjoys fly fishing, skiing, and spending time with his lovely wife Molli and their two children, Henry & Hayley.
Dr. Kooning
Dr. Kooning has worked in several dental settings, including corporate dentistry, and brings a unique perspective to procedures and treatment planning. It’s most important to him that you have a conservative, thoughtful and honest assessment of your current condition so that you can make the best possible decision(s) about your care. He is also dedicated to the idea that the pace of treatment is dictated by you.
Dr. Christopher Kooning is a Portland native. He was raised in Lake Oswego and is a proud graduate of La Salle High School. He attended Oregon State University and received his dental Doctorate from the Oregon Health Sciences University in 2009, in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Jan Kooning. During college and dental school he served for six years in the United States Army Reserve.

Amie Grace – Hygienist
In 1994, Amie graduated Oregon Health Sciences University with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. She loves being part of the Ponderosa team because she has the opportunity to provide thorough, quality dental hygiene services to the team’s deserving patients.
Outside the office, Amie enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, gardening, and walking her dog.
Pam – Hygienist
Pam has been in dentistry since 1986 and started as a chairside dental assistant. After working as an assistant for almost 20 years, she decided to expand her education. In 2004, Pam graduated from Mt. Hood with her Dental Hygiene degree. Pam has been with Ponderosa Dental Arts since 2020 and enjoys getting to know the patients as they come in and answering any questions they may have.
Pam has two adult daughters who are also in healthcare. When out of the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors golfing, hiking, and kayaking.
Gina – Dental Assistant
Gina has been in the dental field for 20 years. She just moved to Oregon City with her husband, daughter, and beloved dog Jade. She enjoys watching her daughter play softball. She also loves to cook and try new recipes.
Kaylynn – Dental Assistant
Kaylynn has been in the dental field for 7 years. She enjoys making her patients smile and building meaningful connections. When not in the office, Kaylynn loves spending her time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and playing with her cats.
Katlynne – Patient Care Coordinator
Katlynne has been in the dental field for 4 years. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know patients and making personal connections. When she is not in the office, she enjoys going camping, playing with her dog Jax, and watching movies.
